Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and Adsterra load by default on the first visit; Reject turns them off and remembers the choice for 180 days. The banner remains visible until you choose. Checked against this build on 2026-11-02.

Choices, Consent Mode and expiry

mhg-consent contains ads, explicit and ts. With no valid record, the loader treats the visit as granted for tag loading and shows the banner. That default is not an explicit Accept. Google Consent Mode v2 starts before configuration with ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization denied, analytics_storage granted and ads_data_redaction enabled. Explicit Accept enables the three Google advertising signals.

Reject writes a denied record and reloads the page, ending the loaded third-party scripts. Later pages skip GA4, Clarity and Adsterra while the choice is valid. Accept also reloads so providers resume after a prior rejection. Cookie settings in every footer reopens the choice. A rejection cannot undo requests already delivered before the click. Global Privacy Control is treated as a denial and overrides Accept.

Both localStorage records expire after 180 days. Closing a Social Bar creates mhg-socialbar-closed; that only dismisses the bar, not analytics or the Native Banner. The loader ignores expired records. You can remove this site's storage with your browser's site-data controls.

Retention and provider controls

Google event-data retention is configured in the GA4 property; standard properties offer two or fourteen months. This guide does not claim an independently verified property retention setting. Microsoft and Adsterra apply their own retention and storage policies. Requests can expose the page URL, browser/device information, IP address and interactions to the provider. Avoid entering sensitive information into an embedded page.

Rights and requests

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, withdraw permission, object to processing or complain to a supervisory authority. Email [email protected] with the affected page and request. This guide can address its own records and corrections; providers handle information held in their systems. Default loading is the behavior of this build, not a claim that silence establishes legally valid consent in every jurisdiction.
